Mindful Fitness
A Free Christ-centered, Bible-based program to help you become mentally and emotionally fit

What is mindful fitness?
Mindful fitness is about holding our thoughts and emotions accountable.
We recognize that the only person we can control is ourselves. Because of this, we focus on evaluating eight key areas that influence our lives in order to understand how we can grow.

Program Overview
The Mindful Fitness program is a support group that meets over eight weeks.
We will work through the following topics each week:
Week 1 - Gratitude, Attention, Change
Week 2 - Emotions and Feelings
Week 3 - Personal Beliefs
Week 4 - Thought Patterns
Week 5 - Core Values
Week 6 - Boundaries
Week 7 - Healthy Goals
Week 8 - Community Support

What You Can Expect
This program will empower you to become more self aware of your mental wellness and personal growth.
Whether you're feeling stuck in life or have felt overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or struggling with worry, this support group will encourage you to take control of your life, own your thoughts and feelings and make powerful decisions.

What Attending Is Like
Each group gathering lasts 90 minutes. We start and end on time to respect everyone's schedule.
Each group gathering will follow a similar agenda which includes:
Five to Ten People
We've found these groups are better when smaller so we keep them under ten attendees.
Prayer, Scripture reading
We start each group with scripture reading, prayer and meditation to help us center ourselves.
Group discussion
The facilitator will guide the group through an outline of key points and questions for the group to discuss.

Group Boundaries & Disclaimers
What’s shared in this group stays in this group
Help respect each other’s privacy and space by not sharing with anyone outside the group unless the person has given you permission.Show respect for each person where they’re at
We’re not here to try to convince or push others to see things “our” way. Be mindful of each person’s story, experiences and season of life they’re in.Be a good listener
Some of the people sharing in this group might not have a lot of pieople who are willing to hear their perspective. Be a good listener by making eye contact, being interested, and even responding with genuine follow up prompts, like:
- “I can’t imagine what that must’ve been like”
- “Are you comfortable sharing a little bit more?”
- “I’m so sorry to hear that”
- “When you say___, what do you mean?”
- “What I’m hearing you say is_____, is that right?”
- “Why do you think that is?”Don’t try to “fix” people
When others are going through difficulties, we want to avoid trying to solve their problems. Instead, share a personal story that could be encouraging, offer a personal perspective or ask permission to share an observation.Be yourself
This is a safe space so be yourself. Sometimes it’s easy to put up a front or hold back because we’re afraid of how others will perceive us. God made you YOU for a reason. The more comfortable you are with yourself, the easier connecting with others will be.Learn from each other without comparing yourself to each other
Sometimes when someone shares something really difficult with the group, we might feel tempted to withhold sharing our own difficulty if we think it’s small compared to what the other person has shared. This is a form of minimizing our feelings. On the other hand, sometimes when we share something really difficult, we might feel like another person’s story isn’t as important as ours. This is a form of minimizing what others bring to the table.Be on time
To respect everyone’s time, we will plan on starting and dismissing at the times communicated within the group. Please prioritize arriving on time. We ask that you avoid being late unless it is an urgent emergency. This isn’t a substitute for professional therapy
This Mental Wellness group is not a substitute for professional therapy or counseling, nor do we seek to give advice, diagnose or provide treatment for mental health issues.
